A Warhol-ean Inspiration
One of the artists that I have gotten inspiration from is Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol is an artist who is well known for creating portraits (such as the Marlyn Monroe Diptych, Campbell's Soup Cans, the Mickey Mouse Quadrant, and so on) using bold and outrageous colors. Most of these prints are popular today, as they can be seen in one way or another, either on T-shirts, Wall Hangings, Books, and other memorabilia. This shows that even after Warhol's passing (he passed away in 1987), his work is still well-known and enjoyed by the masses; especially since he was one of the first artists to adopt this style.
Aside from art, Andy Warhol has also directed and produced art films; one of his most popular art films is the film "Empire", which mostly consists of an eight-hour footage shot of the Empire State Building. He also worked in the music industry, producing works for the punk band "the Velvet Underground". By dabbing into projects outside of his usual repertoire, Andy Warhol is considered to be versatile in terms of his art.
I consider this an inspiration for some of my artworks, mostly due to the use of bold colors that were presented. It also became an influence on some of my artworks (such as a poster for one of the classes I previously took), although it does not use that much of that bold color compared to Andy Warhol's. And what draws me to his art works mostly has something to do with how much color he uses. And while it does get overwhelming at times, it's a good use of color for him.
